Prerequisite: Student must have completed Learn to Sew or have equivalent experience. A 1-on-1 can be scheduled for this if there is no Learn to Sew class available
Once your child has completed the basic Learn to Sew class, he/she may join in any Sewing Studio class that has space available. (ALL former students are welcome to register for this course) During the weekly Summer Sewing Studio, each student will work on projects of their choosing at their own pace.
Summer Sewing Studio will meet for 6 Wednesday nights 5-6:30pm
July 10, 17, 24, 31, Aug 14, 21
Classes are $30 each plus materials. Please let us know which dates you want to attend. You may attend 1-6 of the nights as long as there is space
As with any class, students are welcome to use the Babylock sewing machines we have at the studio or bring their own from home. Students will need to purchase their own fabrics, thread and patterns for their projects. These items are available for purchase at the studio for your convenience. Enrolled students get a discounted fabric price of $9/yard for cotton, $7/yd for flannel and fleece and $12/yd for knit. Students are always welcome to use our selection of Free Patterns and scrap fabric during class. You will receive an emailed invoice for in-class charges on a monthly basis.
Each student will learn new skills as they work through projects of their choosing. We have many project options available at each level or you can bring your own ideas. Students work to meet the required skills for each level, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple. Students will work through the skills to progress into the next color level. Each level has it’s own group of skills, patterns and privileges. We are happy to explain more of this in detail if you have any questions.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at email@example.com
We highly recommend many PDF patterns that can be purchased online and printed out at home. When you print them, just make sure you print at 100%, No Scaling, No “fit to page”. Just bring in the pattern and I’ll teach your child how to put it together to use. Here are our favorites:
For clothing, including a whole line for Tweens: Create Kids Couture
For Stuffed Animals: Dolls and Daydreams
For purses and bags: Swoon
